Human hair is nothing short of a miracle. The hair is made of two parts, a hair follicle, the living part located under the skin and hair shaft a nonliving part above the skin surface. The hair shaft is made of a special protein called Keratin which is made of 18 amino acids. Keratin is a tough substance, but with regular use of hair products, salty water, heat and harsh chemicals in hair dyes, the hair will look dull and weak.
